Antibodies and Liver Transplantation
Conventionally, liver allografts have been considered to be relatively resilient to allogeneic immunological attack compared to kidney or pancreas allografts. Liver transplants are usually allocated according to lood group was not complete, especially in the presence of preformed class II DSA (1,2). When sensitive solid
11 Locus HLA Full Gene Amplification Assay
The rapid progress of Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) typing techniques has contributed to improving the outcome of haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). However, unambiguous HLA typing remains challenging. Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) has been
Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Primary
Primary immunodeficiencies (PID) are disorders that for the most part result from mutations in genes involved in immune host defense and immunoregulation. These conditions are characterized by various combinations of recurrent infections, autoimmunity, lymphoproliferation,
17th International HLA And Immunogenetics
Extended molecular characterization of HLA genes in the IHWG reference B-lymphoblastoid cell lines (B-LCLs) was one of the major goals for the 17th International HLA and Immunogenetics Workshop (IHIW). Although reference B-LCLs have been examined
Anti-HLA Antibody The Role of Epitopes in Organ Transplantation
Recent developments have been achieved for better matching in solid-organ transplantation by epitope matching. HLA matching remains a standard immunologic strategy to determine organ compatibility for recipients. Advancements in tissue typing
Kidney Transplantation For The General Nephrologist
Tissue typing is the process by which an individual's human leukocyte anti¬gens (HLA) are determined. In transplantation, this vital process allows the immunologic or rejection risk of a donor-recipient pairing to be assessed through reviewing their
